Guided Relaxation and Mindfulness

Use these guided exercises to develop controlled breathing, muscle relaxation, and mindfulness.  Explore each recording to identify the aspects that are most helpful for you.  For additional, alternative, or more in-depth exercises, peruse the extensive selection of Amazon or iTunes.

Headspace

The Headspace App puts mindfulness meditation in the palm of your hand with instructional videos and guided exercises.  It’s a science-based, well-built tool for improving your ability to control your attention, nonjudgmentally, in the present moment.

Prana

The Prana Breath app for Android is a simple visual guide for controlled breathing will help you practice slow consistent breathing.  The streamline features make it ideal for younger users or anyone looking for some basic tool for structuring their brief relaxation exercises.

Superbetter

Superbetter was developed, as an app and a website, by a video game designer hoping to ‘gamify’ the process of living with mental health issues.  For more information, check out our Superbetter blog post

Nutrition for Mental Health

On Wednesday, June 10th, 2020 join us for a two-hour workshop exploring the impact of nutrition on mental health.  We will identify practical strategies for applying meaningful dietary changes to better manage emotional distress.

The workshop will be held at Vibe Coworks in Poulsbo.

Workshop facilitator, Dr. Matt Poinsett, earned his Ph.D. in clinical psychology, is a licensed mental health counselor and is a certified mental health integrative medicine provider.
